I'm convinced The Walking Dead hates women. The female characters are horribly represented, are mostly un-relatable and are clearly created from the perspective of male writers. As I suspected, the ENTIRE writing crew is male. There are 15 producers, 2 of which are female. There is obvious sexism occurring. The writers believe they can make a strong female character by giving her a gun, but the real answer is in hiring more women to be a part of the team behind the scenes, and getting true female perspective. I wish this were as obvious to them, and wish it would change soon. TWD is an awesome idea and is suffering from lack of awareness. This needs to fucking change.

They show the female characters directly or indirectly causing all the problems and fixing none. It's pretty irresponsible writing.

I am so late to this conversation, but I did a google search today for "walking dead women" and came across your blog. I did that search because I wanted to see if anyone felt the way I did about this show and the ridiculous way they treat the female characters. Every woman on that show acts like an idiot! I've never seen such blatantly sexist writing. It's kind of shocking.
